Is out. On sourceforge. Along with a new rjags. Thanks Martyn.
I’m looking forward to working my way through some of the improvements, which include
- block-updating of parameters in GLMs
- more use of R’s d/p/q family of functions for densities
- improvements to dnormmix for normal mixtures
- dmstate, for Markov switching models (far out!).

I write to thank some friends and colleagues and former students (and people I don’t know!) who have been reporting typos and errors in my book. The errata list is updated as people report them to me.
My thanks to Stephen Jessee (UT Austin) and Jeff Lewis (UCLA) and their students for spotting some errors that go beyond “typos”.

Digging the new Groove Armada album Black Light. Big fat analog synth bass lines, Roland TR era drum machines and new romantic themes bursting out all over.
I can hear touches of INXS, Tears for Fears, The Clash, U2, Roxy Music, The Church, Psychadelic Furs, Echo and the Bunnymen, even Gary Numan, Erasure and Thompson Twins. Lots of big build ups and unabashed emotion in lyrics and double-tracked vocals (go Nick Livermore). Back to the 80s! But what the hell did they do to Bryan Ferry’s vocals?
Can’t believe I missed their USA tour dates. 2 gigs at the Filmore a few weeks ago.
